I got back from Yosemite Monday evening and I am still in the process of editing and sorting photos and going over the notes I jotted down during the trip. I used to keep an actual journal while on vacation but since my hand injury it hurts to write for any length of time, so now I jot down things I want to remember and type up an account when I get home. It's not as spontaneous as writing "on the spot" but what are you gonna do?
And now I have a blog to keep up as well. I'm trying to decide how to do this. A chronological account? Separate posts about each place I visited? Themes? It's all so confusing ;)
To start off, here's a quick overview of the trip:
My sister and I left early Friday morning and drove to Mariposa via Fresno and Oakhurst. Saturday we spent the day in Yosemite Valley. Sunday we spent the morning on the Tioga Road and Tuolumne Meadows, then drove back to Mariposa via the Big Oak Flat Road and Coulterville (thereby driving the last section of Hwy. 49 we hadn't done -- the infamous Hell's Hollow drive). Monday we drove home over Tioga Pass and down Hwy. 395.
Along the way we had various "adventures." There was the Adventure of the Bumblebee in the Motel Room, the Adventure of the One-Way Bridges, the Adventure of the Alpine Rainstorm, and the Adventure of the Scary Noise in the Car.
And we finally saw the Tule Elk in the Owens Valley. But still no bears .... :(
