I just tried to find the quote that inspired my blog title online. I couldn't find it but I did find references to descriptions of the Platte River, one of the many obstacles the pioneers had to face on their way to the West. But rest assured, this blog will not be about the hardships of the Forty-Niners or the natural history of a major midwestern river. No, it will be about whatever strikes my fancy. Which might include the Donner Party or Lewis and Clark or ... well, who knows? My interests really are a mile wide and an inch deep (with a few deep pools around the areas of horses, the environment & sustainability, mad cats and books) just like the Platte River. And I promise you this is the last time I will make reference to it.

Hi there, I am Theresa's sister, and coincidentally I live by the Platte now. I can relate to the title of your blog; I think it applies to artists in many cases too. I hope you are doing well. Michelle
Hi Michelle, thanks for the comment! Who would have thought my random reference to the Platte River would end up meaning anything? Hope you like the blog!
Have you ever found the origin of your title, "A Mile Wide and and Inch Deep?"
