Okay, part of me is fascinated by the Wii game system, and especially the new Wii Fit game. It would be lots of fun and I do need to start some kind of exercise regimen. But then there's the part of me that says "It's too much money" (that's the cheapskate part of me) and another part that says "Simplify, simplify!" (that's the eco/spiritual side of me, chanelling Henry David Thoreau).
Exacerbating the problem is that $600 "economic stimulus" check I should be getting in the next month or two. I don't really agree with the whole let's-give-everyone-some-money-so-they-can-buy-more-stuff idea, so I have given myself several options. First, pay down a credit card bill (not glamorous or economically stimulating but it would be the sensible thing to do). Second, put it in my savings account or buy a short-term CD. Third, buy new tires for my car. Now, these are all good things to do with money, but there's that little voice in my head saying "Buy the Wii! Buy an iPod! Stuff, stuff, gimme STUFF!!!"
Fortunately I am enough of a tightwad that I will probably do something reasonable with the money -- unless I decide to use it to pay for horse riding lessons .... hmmm ....

Howdy Bud! I like your avatar and the title of your blog. I would love to have a Wii too, but we are not in a position to spend any money on non-essential items like that right now. I'll just keep dreaming. :)
sometimes we have to spoil ourselves a little and I think you should buy the wii( whatever that is) if you want it so bad. Look at it this way: otherwise you would not have had the money either. In case you don't know,I'm Theresa's Mom and I just figured out who you are I think. Didn't you used to work in the library in our hometown? I hope you're doing well?I have to ask Theresa what a wii is because I have no idea.
Yes, I am who you think I am. :) Thanks for the comment; I hope you like the blog!
